VOLUNTEERS NEEDED DAILY AND ON WEEKENDS!

Volunteers are needed to collect,sort and pack items at the new NJ4HAITI warehouse located at 640 Dowd Avenue.


Two shifts are available 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

How You Can Help

The easiest/quickest way to assist is through your financial support. United Way of Greater Union County has established a NJ4HAITI fund that will be used to fund relief and rebuilding efforts.

Many organizations have already begun outreach and support efforts. We urge you to participate with them as well.

Yele.org a grassroots movement that builds global awareness for Haiti while helping to transform the country through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment. Yéle’s community service programs include food distribution and mobilizing emergency relief. The United Way of Greater Union County

The United Way of Greater Union County will act as the financial agent for New Jersey for Haiti and will ensure that every dollar contributed goes directly to the relief effort. Make checks payable to New Jersey For Haiti c/o UWGUC Or visit them by clicking here.

 

The American Red Cross

The American Red Cross has already released $1,000,000 and made all of its disaster and sheltering supplies in our Panama facility available to Haiti. American Red Cross disaster specialists from the United States are on the ground, and more are being sent to support the people of Haiti.  Donations can be made online at http://www.redcross.org or by mobile phone texting “Haiti to 90999 which will donate $10 to the Red Cross International Relief Fund. http://www.redcross.org

 

Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network (SATERN)

SATERN has volunteers that have been monitoring Ham radios all night for info coming from the area. Should anyone be looking to locate a loved one or get any info on someone they can register at www.qso.com and go to "health and welfare registry”. Russ Hendrickson. www.salvationarmynj.org

 

Church World Service

Church World Service will only accept financial donations and they can be made online at www.churchworldservice.org

 

United Methodist Church

UMCOR (United Methodist Church) will be responding to Haiti's survivors through our international unit, and our United Methodist Volunteers in Mission will likely plan to assist with rebuilding projects in the future.  www.umcor.org

Catholic Relief Sercices is the sister agency to Catholic Charities and currently has an office on the ground.  Contact Information:  www.crs.org.

 

Tzu Chi Foundation

Gathering relief goods from neighboring countries. Tzu Chi team members and the medical team are on standby. The relief team will be on the road once the travel plan is finalized. They are continuing to communicate with their local contact and are gathering relief information. They will post all the related relief efforts on their web site www.us.tzuchi.org

 

United Way Worldwide Disaster Fund

Christian Reformed World Relief Committee

Christian Reformed World Relief Committee's Response to the Earthquake in Haiti CRWRC has staff, partners, and community networks on the ground in Port au Prince who are coordinating an immediate response that will include items such as food, water, and shelter. N. American staff and volunteers will arrive in Haiti on Friday to assess needs beyond the immediate, including near-term and intermediate response phases.
