WHO WE ARE

NJ4Haiti is an organization supported by the United Way of Greater Union County which is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to providing relief and assistance in helping Haiti to recover and rebuild their future. NJ4Haiti's approach includes support for education, improving the quality of life through clean water, public health advocacy, support of economic sustainability in Haiti and Haitian immigrants in America.

On January 12, 2010 approximately ten years ago the beautiful island of Haiti was devastated by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that took over 250,000 lives. Haiti is still suffering from the aftermath of the earthquake. To date the families in Haiti are still living in demoralizing conditions, no sanitation systems, and limited clean water supplies that has led to an outbreak of cholera.

NJ4Haiti was created as a result of the earthquake and continues to provide aid and give the Haitian people hope. Since the earthquake NJ4Haiti has hosted several mission trips to Haiti with over a 100 volunteers from a variety of professional backgrounds (doctors, nurses, engineers, social service professionals, mental health professionals).

Our volunteers have provided needed medical services, mental health services, educational services to several hard hit communities in Haiti.

NJ4Haiti has also fed families, provided toiletries, clothing, medical supplies, and conducted sustainability assessments.

With your support we can continue this work. The recovery phase is over and it is now time to sustain and rebuild.
